Platt College is my home away from home. I am a mother of three and my children and I decided to make the temporary sacrifice for me to go back to school to make a career for myself since I did not finish college right after high school.

The people I started Platt with are like my brothers and sisters. We may not see each other all the time because everyone’s schedules are different, but when we do see each other its as if we did miss a beat. We help and support each other on projects to give tips when needed produce our creative best and meet deadlines. We are a family and those that I have bonded with will be in my heart forever.

Each instructor has his/her own attitude and style of teaching and I have enjoyed each and every one of them. I really dug the fact that these people are so knowledgeable about the subject they are teaching and want to give us as much as we are willing to take - they aren’t just there for the money. I have learned soooo much from the instructors, as well as the TAs here at Platt. The skills that I’ve learned will transcend to almost any field of employment, be it a bio-tech firm or a local magazine/newspaper. We have been given the tools to go out into the world and make a good living as we make things aesthetically beautiful. I thank each and every one of my instructors.

I can’t forget the administration. From the first day I entered Platt, everyone was approachable and made me feel important and welcomed. From the dean, to the financial aid director to the career counselor, everyone has an open door policy and very rarely will you find that at a larger college. The personal one on one attention makes a big difference when situations arise and need to be resolved. Keeping me on the right track was important to them, wow!!!

I would recommend Platt to anyone who wants to learn the art of graphics and design in an intimate environment. Thank you Platt for helping me grow."

The Anglo-Saxon poem “Beowulf” is often credited as one of the touchstones of old English literature with its enduring tale of the warrior-hero Beowulf, the monster Grendel, and Grendel’s dangerous and vengeful mother. Director Robert Zemeckis (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump) is viewed as somewhat of a legend himself for his technological innovations in cinema. Now, the centuries-old material comes face-to-face with the latest motion-capture technology in Zemeckis’s 3D computer-generated film Beowulf.

2004 B.S. in Media Arts graduate Jasun Giles (technical animator/mocap artist: Sony Pictures ImageWorks) had worked hard on the Paramount Pictures release Beowulf and is busy on his next project: Foodfight for House of Moves.

"It took me two years to find a school that will effectively assist and provide me with the knowledge to design web pages and graphics. I chose Platt College because of its modest class size and convenience to attend classes at night. Platt College also offers financial aid programs.

As a full-time working-mom of a six and a seven year old, and a wife, I am relieved to find several working-moms attend Platt College as well. "The first thing that struck me about Platt College was the atmosphere. I had visited several other schools but the thing that stood out at Platt was the fact that everyone I came in contact with was really glad to be here and the instructors were genuinely enthusiastic about the curriculum. Returning to school at age 39 to facilitate a career change was a scary thing at first. Now that I've almost completed the bachelors program at Platt, the only thing scary is the thought of what I might be doing had I decided NOT to attend classes here.
