This course will focus on the fundamentals of drawing: elements of line, composition, proportion, spatial relationships, perspective, volume, light and shadow, foreshortening, value and texture. The course will enhance students’ observational sensibilities and enable their application to their work. The notion of visual perception will be explored and students will learn how to record what they observe. Students will become familiar with various ways in which the elements, principles of design and composition improve their creative approach and critical judgment.
