LIT101 - Introduction to Literature

Introduction to Literature (LIT101) serves as an introduction to literature and creative writing. As such it will initiate the students to the realm of prose, poetry and drama and will contribute to the appreciation of intrinsic beauty of a written text. Through analyzing examples of literature, attending a poetry reading, a theater piece, and mainly creative writing inspired by the known literature, the students will acquire an understanding of the different genres in literature and the principles of character, conflict, point of view, setting, symbolism, figurative language, tone, and theme.
