The Bachelor of Science Degree: Media Arts (area of study in Web Design) prepares students for a career in web development and design.
This program is structured to compliment the resulting changes in information architecture and interactive design that have catapulted the primarily print media area of graphic design into new arenas that combine audio, video, text, graphics, animation and commerce for the web. Specific programming languages emphasized: HTML, CSS, ActionScript, JavaScript, XML, AJAX and PHP.
The program starts with foundation courses in design and coding for web to current web standards. Students then continue with web courses developing their online design principles and expand their technical skills. Further studies in design principles and typography, image manipulation and cinematography are also covered.
In addition to the general class subjects, students graduate with an online web portfolio along with several other completed master web projects.
